Vape coil compatibility guide: why coils are not universal
This vape coil compatibility guide explains one thing: a coil only works in the device or tank it was made for. Coils differ in thread, size and resistance, so a coil from one range will usually not fit another range. We use the maker listings on our product pages and have not tested every combination.
Everything here is for adults aged 21 or over.
Rule 1: match the coil to the device or tank
Start with the system name on the listing. A kit sold with an iTank 2 tank uses coils for that tank. A pod kit uses the pods or coils named for it. If the listing names a coil series, buy coils from that series.
Where to find the coil name
The product page names it in the specifications. If you cannot find it, message us on WhatsApp at +971 56 389 8101 before you order.
Never force a coil that does not seat. If it does not fit easily, it is probably the wrong part. Check the listing for the exact series name, such as GTI for the Armour Max or RPM 2 for the SMOK RPM C, and compare it with the coil box before you fit it.
Coil systems listed for popular kits
The table shows the coil system named in each listing. It is a summary of the listing text, not a full compatibility chart.
Coil systems by device
| Device | Coil system listed | Coils or resistance listed |
|---|---|---|
| Vaporesso Armour Max | GTI platform | 0.2 ohm and 0.4 ohm mesh coils included |
| Vaporesso Armour S | iTank 2 coils | See product page |
| Voopoo Argus P3 | Argus pods | 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm options |
| Uwell Caliburn AK3 | Integrated A3 pods | Meshed 1.0 ohm |
| Geekvape H45 | B Series coils | See product page |
| SMOK RPM C | RPM 2 series | 0.3 ohm mesh and 0.6 ohm DC MTL included |
Rule 2: read the resistance and power range
Resistance is measured in ohms. Lower resistance coils are generally used with higher power and higher resistance coils with lower power. Each device lists a power range, for example 5-30W on the Voopoo Argus P3 and 5-220W on the Vaporesso Armour Max.
Stay inside the range your device lists. A coil that suits one kit may be wrong for another even if it physically fits.
When two coils are included, as with the 0.3 ohm and 0.6 ohm coils listed for the RPM C, try the one that matches your power setting first. Do not run a coil outside the range printed on its packaging.
Rule 3: mesh or standard coil
Mesh coils use a woven surface instead of a round wire. The Armour Max lists 0.2 ohm and 0.4 ohm mesh coils, and the SMOK RPM C lists a 0.3 ohm mesh coil and a 0.6 ohm DC MTL coil. Which one you prefer is personal, and we cannot judge flavour from a listing.
Browse the pods and coils range to see what is available for your kit.
Mesh or standard: how to decide
Follow the coil type named for your device. If your kit ships with two coils, try each and keep the one you prefer.
Rule 4: check stock before you buy a kit
Before you buy a kit, check that replacement coils or pods are available. A kit is only as useful as its supply of parts. Our best pod systems for beginners guide compares kits with this in mind, and the pod system range lists current models.
If you are not sure which coil fits, message us on WhatsApp at +971 56 389 8101 with the device name before you order. Do not guess, because a wrong coil is an avoidable cost.
Rule 5: fit, prime and stay safe, plus delivery in Dubai
Screw or seat the coil fully, then let it soak in e-liquid before use. Dry use can burn a coil. Keep devices out of heat and direct sun, which matters in Dubai summers. The UAE standard UAE.S 5030 sets a limit of 20 mg/ml for nicotine in vaping liquids. Check the current rules on the MoIAT website. See the e-liquid range for liquids.
Delivery is AED 30, free over AED 350, and you pay on delivery. See the Shipping and Delivery Policy. This vape coil compatibility guide applies the same way to every brand.
