Battery safety

External batteries, such as the 18650 cells used in vape mods, need more care than most people give them. A few rules worth following:

• Use a proper external charger or the maker’s own, never an unbranded fast charger.
• Never carry a loose cell in a pocket with keys or coins. A short circuit across the terminals can cause a violent failure.
• Stop using any cell whose wrap is torn or whose casing is dented or swollen. Rewrapping a damaged cell is not a repair.
• Check the continuous discharge rating (CDR) the device maker requires, and use a cell that meets it.
• Do not leave batteries charging unattended overnight, in direct sun, or on a car dashboard.
• Carry spare cells in a case, not loose.

Choosing the right part

Coils, pods and tanks are made for specific devices, so match the name on the pack to your device before you order. Batteries must suit the device too: check the size and the rating the maker lists. Genuine cells

Counterfeit and rewrapped batteries are widespread and often overstate their capacity and discharge rating, the specification you rely on for safe operation. Compare the figures on our product pages with the maker’s own.

Delivery and payment
