Choosing a first size
The puff rating is the manufacturer’s estimate of how many draws a device can give. If you take about 100 puffs a day, a 10,000-puff device is rated for around 100 days, though real use is usually shorter. Our puff count guide explains the bands.
A device between 5,000 and 19,999 puffs is a sensible first choice. It is small enough to carry, cheap enough that a wrong flavour is not a big loss, and large enough that you are not reordering every few days.

Choosing a first strength
Strength is shown in the product title as mg or as a percentage, and 20 mg is the same as 2%. The UAE standard UAE.S 5030 sets a limit of 20 mg/ml, and the national standards body publishes the current rules at moiat.gov.ae. Devices that list a higher strength are shown with their listed strength and are not described as compliant. We cannot tell you how an individual product is certified, so ask the manufacturer or the authority if that matters to you.

Choosing a first flavour
Pick a flavour you already like in food or drink. Fruit flavours such as berry, grape, watermelon and mango are the most widely available, and cooling ice or menthol versions are common in a hot climate.
